Play Toolkit

The Play Toolkit explores ways that parents can support their child’s play as a part of their everyday routines. It develops these ideas of play using resources that families have at home.

The toolkit is made up of six sections:

  • Parent and Child Together (PACT) Time® at Home
  • Visual Schedule
  • The Play Cycle
  • A Comfy Place to Read
  • Art Together
  • Open-Ended Materials

To explain each section, there are handouts, a Learning Snapshot, pictures, and video examples.  The Toolkit offers teachers tips and ideas to work play concepts into their classrooms. Parents receive tips and ideas to use at home.  These materials can be introduced and discussed in Parent Time and incorporated into PACT Time, at home, or in the classroom.
